~ Joel Grozier's 66 Nova ~
|
Had your site bookmarked for a few years, and figured I'd send you a couple of photos of my car for the visitors picture forum. This 66 was built in 68 with a CAE kit axle and a crate L-88 for the street. It's biggest claim to fame is taking on a guy with a new cuda with a 426. The Nova owner decided to heat up his tires, and got a little carried away with a huge wheelstand prompting the driver to get out of it too quick, landing hard and bending the front axle. Upon seeing that, the Hemi owner said he wanted none of that car in no uncertain terms and split. I saw this car on the streets as a kid, and found it stripped in 79 buying it on the spot. The car sat until a few years ago when I had the money and time to devote to it. Finding someone who will make an axle that has correct camber (after welding) has been the hardest part, and I still haven't got one that I like. the Motor is a real original 69 ZL1 to look like a crate-replacement, and a iron-block! aluminum head 427 for thrashing. An M-22 and a ford 9" round it out. Most people ask me why I'm not putting it back to stock, they just don't get it.......Joel Grozier, Cape Cod, MA |
