Hey Byron,
I've been checking your website for over two years now. I think what
you're doing is GREAT! I love seeing the old photos from private
collections!
I'm a tech editor at Buckaroo Communications in So. Cal. We publish
many car mags (Super Rod, Street Rod Builder, American Rodder, etc.).
I write for many of the mags, but the bulk of my stuff goes into Chevy
Rumble Magazine. Chevy Rumble went monthly a few months ago and is
growing very quickly.
I've been writing a series in Chevy Rumble about the building of my
gasser-style '63 Chevy Biscayne, called Project 'Tin Can'. I collected
vintage parts for 'Tin Can' for over a year and as far as I can tell,
there are no parts newer than 1967 on the car...
Project 'Tin Can' is very close to being a runner again with its
original, low mileage 283 (hopped up with a Melling 30-30 Duntov solid
cam and lifters, Edelbrock C3B intake, Holley 0-1850 600 cfm. 4-bbl.
carb and vintage Hooker Headers) and a rebuilt Muncie M21 4-speed and
rebuilt 4.56 posi. I've already started building a high-compression
327 for the car, so the 283 won't be in there very long. The car will
see street duty here in Los Angeles and will be raced on Thursday
nights at Irwindale Dragstrip after I get it sorted out and tech
legal.
I'll try to give your web site a plug in an upcoming segment of
Project 'Tin Can.' Thanks for the inspiration. Keep doin' it.
Best regards,
Tim Gavern
