Hi Byron. Here's some pictures of my '54 Chevy gasser/hi-boy. It's a 66 Ford Econoline dropped I beam straight axle with the same van's 9" rear end, although now it has 430 gears, Dutchman 31 spline billet axles with a full spool. Motor came from a 70 GMC pick-up, 402 (aka 396), needle bearing roller rockers, Holly 750, Crane cam, Edelbrock rpm intake. The tranny is a Muncie 4 speed w/ a Hurst inline 4 speed shifter, with the infamous Purple Hornie mufflers dumping down below. Hoosier Radials front and back, ladder bars in back, panhard bar in front. The tilt front end is on a 6" slide so I don't scratch my doors. All new wiring, gauges, interior, etc. The car will run at the Woodburn Dragstrip this summer, hoping to get into the 11's with it. If not, a Summit tunnel ram with dual 4's will be soon to follow ;- ) Thanks so much for your most excellent website, as it's been an ongoing inspiration and source of great ideas.
