As of this date, this forum is running on new software.  All of the previous users, posts, etc. have been converted and everything seems to be there and working okay.  There were a couple of reasons for doing this.  Theoretically, the security should be better and also there's more features for you to use.  As a matter of fact, you should now be able to add attachments to your posts (although I have not tested that yet).  The primary reason that I installed the updated software was that it provides a MUCH improved way to control the bots & spammers that keep registering.  After installing the new stuff, I was able to go through in a matter of 15 minutes and delete several hundred (maybe 700 or so) bogus users whose only purpose is to park a website address for porn, loans, viagra, diet pills, etc, etc.  This would have taken several hours with the old stuff.  Hopefully I got them all and didn't delete any valid users.
