'29 highboy Harry Duncan
This Chrysler powered car was very fast, but it didn't belong to Harry Duncan. I am unable to recall the driver's name, but they won often. Unfortunately, they crashed badly at Long Beach, and the driver didn't survive.

'29 Roadster Ike Iacono
Ike was a young guy who was magic with GMCs. He also had a fenderless '34 coupe with a GMC. He was almost in a league by himself.
Correction---That is not Iaconos car It is in
fact Dale Lambrose' car and he was part of the Iacono race team.

32' street roadster in pits
Bob Rector, in the Bonneville pith helmet, was a free soul who drove this car everywhere, raced it, and almost always won. It was neat car that would stand up to any of today's home built roadsters. He had just come back from the salt when this was taken.

Al Thayer's 32' highboy
Al was a Pomona guy, very active at El Mirage and Bonneville. His car was flathead powered here, later switched to a blown Chrysler. He teamed up with Ray Trobee at the lakebed and the salt in the 60s.

A/MR '27 T
Famous, very fast car. Built by Red Henslee, it had a flathead with a 180-degree crankshaft that made the exhaust note sound like a four banger. It did not run like a four banger, though.

Art Chrisman 29' highboy roadster
Actually, Ed Losinski's car. Several big players hung out at the Chrisman garage (Leroy Neumayer, Frank Cannon, Harry Duncan, and many more), and Art Chrisman did the paint job on Losinski's car. Losinski was a cement contractor, and a wicked drag racer.

Front-engined in this picture, it was later modified to flathead, and later,

At this point, the car is owned by Harry Duncan, a successful contractor and racer. He painted it metallic purple, had Von Dutch do his thing, and went racing. Harry Duncan was a class act.

Nicholson Bros Bantam roadster
Called the 'old Man', this car was the creation of Harold and 'Dyno Don' Nicholson, from Pasadena. The car was a major handful to drive, and was a crowd pleaser. In fact, it was so squirrelly that the PVTA had to ban it briefly, until Harold solved its destructive tendencies.
