Byron,
First off I want to thank you for hosting this on Gasser Madness!! I've gleaned 100's of reference pics from your site! We drag modelers can finally have a contest judged by folks that actually KNOW what they're looking at for a change! lol
Here's the first of my 2 entries.
Here's my '41 Willys Sedan Delivery A/GS. I using the Hot Rod edition Revell '41 Willys Pickup #7118 and the Monogram '39 Chevy Sedan Delivery #2240 for this mutant. I cut the back off the Willys cab and cut the cab off the delivery, and lo and behold the two kinda fit the way I wanted. With a little bit of TLC and about half a tube of body filler, it started to look a little more like it was supposed to.
The front suspension is all scratch built from brass and aluminum stock with brass nuts and bolts. (Leaf springs, axle, tie rod, hubs, etc...) Had to shorten the chassis about 4mm to get it to fit the body. The rear pan/fender section also had to be narrowed. I believe that was about 3mm. Paint is Cobra Colors "Arena Red Metallic". Chassis is flat black. I designed some custom decals for it also. Thanks to Skip Samples for printing them for me.
Engine is a 392 Hemi out of the Johan Petty Roadrunner kit with a parts box blower set up, ignition wiring, fuel plumbing and throttle linkage.
