This car started like as a "Double throw down, contest model".  However, due to time constraints and other of life's demands, it didn't quite get there.  Instead, it ended up being a 'test mule' fpr using the Testors metallizer paints for washes, dry brushing, textures, highlighting, shadowing and other techniques.

I had a lot of fun with this car even though I started out with grandiose ideas and plans.  The end result is a fairly simple model.  The most demanding part was the cleanup of the kit pieces and replacing the firewall and floorboards with aluminum sheet metal.  A few odds and ends out of the parts box, some minor wiring and detailing make a perfect shelf model with a little pizzazz.

I call this my 'haunted' model because of what happened with the paint job.  It had a beautiful (for me) smooth finish to it.  I sanded and polished out the automotive clear lacquer finish which was sprayed over a rattle can blue.  In a matter of a few weeks the shine had turned dull.  I have never had that happen before or since.  I still use the same products with great success.  Weird, huh?
