AWB Chevy II

"Night Stalker" was built from the AMT 'Rat Packer' kit mainly as an exercise in using nail polish for a paint job.  Also, it was my first application pf homemade decals, which I wanted to see how they turned out.  The "Death Rider" decal is the one I made with the "Night Stalker" text coming from the decal box.

Essentially the model is 'box stock' with the exception of the blower motor.  It is an Olds motor from the AMT Willys kit with the mailbox scoop and injector from Altered States.  The headers are built from solder with shrink tubing for the collectors.  Nothing more than basic wiring and fuel lines are included.

The front wheels are white metal from Herb Deeks with the center caps cut from aluminum rod and shaped with files and a Dremel tool.  (Just wanted to try working with metal to get the experience.)  I used a combination of Testors metallizer paints and the actual polished finishes to accomplish the finished look of the wheel.

I was trying to capture the look and feel of the early A/FX and Funny Car match racers.  This model represents a successful local/regional racer who took on the touring pros when they came to town.
