Palomino '67 Chevelle Match Bash: This is a loose recreation of the original Bobby Wood "Palomino" '66 Chevelle. The main difference is I didn't stretch the front fenders like they were on the real car. Instead I altered the wheelbase but kept the overall body length stock. This one features a blown 488-cube 'Rat, pushbutton Chrysler Torqueflite and Chrysler 8 3/4 rear axle. The suspension has been "torqued over" by increasing the length of the driver-side rear coil spring and reducing the length of the passenger-side rear coil spring. Ever since I saw a photo of the Dorsey-Salter "Crazy Cuda" leaving the line this way circa 1966 or '67 in the Popular Hot Rodding New Funny Cars one-shot book, I've been incorporating it into my Match Bash models.
