- 1941 or 1942 Willys coupe, steel body
- Lightweight fiberglass doors, front clip, rear fenders, trunklid . .the rear fenders have labels embedded in the glass ( Cal Automotive ).
- Home built frame of rectangular steel with unusual rear control arms.
- The front axle in photos is merely a steel tube with motorcycle wheels
& tires for moving the car around. The actual front axle assembly is
shown in one of the photos. I can't find any markings as to manufacturer.
- Rear wheels are 16x10 aluminum slots with no name and the tires are
old Goodyear Bluestreak slicks.
- Rear axle assembly is 1957 Olds/Pontiac with open differential
- Car came with 1940 Willys headlight bezels and 1950 Pontiac tail-lights
- Car is in red oxide primer but below that is a sort of lime green paint, possibly some type of metallic paint.
- I purchased the car in February 1997 from Melvin Smith in Macon, GA
- Melvin reportedly purchased the car in Bakersfield, CA in early 90's
- The car had reportedly been sitting in a barn near Bakersfield for 17
yrs
