~ David King's Anglia ~

I bought this car from Donald Clark in Louisville in 1976. It had a 283 3 speed in it. I do not have any idea if he built the car this way or bought it. Just seems that he said it came from Texas.  I do think that he ran it at Ohio Valley Raceway, just south of Louisville. I haven't found any pics here locally, including another Anglia lover who has several pics.
It is on a 60s International Scout frame, which is too wide in front and too long. Pontiac rear. Pass. door handle removed and filled in, as are the trafficators. Wipers holes were filled too. I drilled those out and used a shortened VW 6V wiper assy. (used ignition resistor to reduce voltage). Had no front brakes, but I managed to put Rambler brakes on it. Only had to grind the backing plates a little. Top has been filled in. It has Deitz headlights. Had Aircraft landing lites in it when I got it. If I turned them on, the engine actually slowed down a little, due to the old generator.

Just a quick observation.  Given the location of the hood cutout and the pushbar, it looks to me like this may have been an Altered or a Wheelstander, not a Gasser.  If anyone has any ideas, David would sure like to hear them.
