Howard Anderson's, usually quick 38 Chevy broke during qualifying and wasn't able to make the field.
Tim and Diane Burns' 40 Willys made it's quickest runs ever, qualifying 4th with a 7.02...with a popped burst panel!  Sixes are just around the corner for Tim.  He took out Rich Roberts in the first round but fell to eventual class winner, Gary Reinero, in round 2.
Mike Leonard put his 69 Chevelle in the field at position #7 with a 7.118.  He improved to a 6.930 in the first round, but fell to Dale Boomgaarden who ran a 6.856 in the Mallicoat Brothers' Barracuda.  Back in on the break rule, Mike ran a 6.961 to take out John Peterson in round two, but fell to Gary Reinero in the final despite a 6.981 pass.
Dale Boomgaarden, driving the Mallicoat Brothers' badass 68 Barracuda, qualified 3rd with a 6.867.  Round one saw Dale put Mike Leonard away with a 6.856 just before losing the body in the lights at over 200 MPH.

A series of ten shots.  "Flight of the Cuda"

Cecil Matthews' Shotgun powered 55 T-Bird missed qualifying by .05 seconds with a 7.17.
Chuck Moore's 48 Anglia was a bit off the pace too.  The best he could muster was a 7.3 and didn't make the field.
Ed Moss, with his Shotgun powered 37 Ford was #2 qualifier with a stout 6.866.  Ed slowed to a 7.025 in round one losing to eventual class winner, Gary Reinero.
John Peterson's 70 Barracuda missed the cut, with a best qualifying effort of 7.130.  Back in when low qualifier, Steve Wood couldn't make the call, John took out Steve Woods' ailing Anglia in round 1 but fell to Mike Leonard in round 2.
Gary Reinero's 48 Austin is always a threat, and proved it by taking all the marbles in AA/Gas Supercharged.  Though only qualifying in 6th position, Gary waded through Ed Moss, Tim Burns, and Mike Leonard for the win.  Congratulations Gary.
Rich Roberts 33 Willys qualified 8th, but lost to Tim Burns in round 1.
Steve Wood set low ET and top time with a 6.741@200.29 MPH in his 53 Studebaker, but couldn't make the call for round one.
Steve Woods' 48 Anglia wasn't up to par for this meet, qualifying 5th and going out in round one to John Peterson.
