1956 Chevy Gasser Survivor
Former Gasser Drag Car has now been brought back to the street. This car draws a crowd wherever it goes.

* PPG "Porsche Red" base & clear coat.
* Runs & drives great.
* Lights & charging system works.
* Nice running 305 small block with 45,000 original miles.
* Rebuilt 350 turbo tranny with B&M floor shift. Clutch pedal still in car.
* Edelbrock 600 carburator, headers & purple horny header downspout glass packs
* Drum brakes front & rear. Brakes work good.
* Olds rear with highway gears.
* '55 Chevy straight axle.
* Original drag link and tie rods are tucked away on frame if you ever want to convert back to original suspension

Just a very nice driver, not a detailed show car. Drive "as is" or finish your way.

* Unfinished interior ("way back when", a finished interior on a real Gasser was almost unheard of....the extra weight might cost you your title and your car!) The Gassers I remember (and I saw a lot of them) were always just works in progress. Car currently does have a non-original back seat, but nothing fancy
* Original unbroken glass from 1956.
* One-piece flip front was replaced with a real steel Mississippi front clip with a new grill, front bumper & parking lights. The rest of the chrome & stainless is driver quality.
* Hood, doors & trunk shut good.

Original unrestored floors and under-carriage. Better than average floors for a car this old. Braces under floor will need replacement at some point, but floor seems to be solid enough for normal use. Solid frame and frame mounts. Car does drive straight. Being set up the way it was in the old days, on bumpy roads it rides kind of bumpy but on nice roads it rides pretty nice. It's got a real "hotrod" feel to it. Car is probably more suited for local driving and the malt shop circuit as opposed to long trips. A real Gasser from "back in the day"...not a "wanna be". Just like the models you used to build...except this one is real.
