EXCEPT FOR SOME DUST FROM STORAGE, THIS STREET MACHINE APPEARS AS FRESH AS IT DID IN THE EARLY 90'S WHEN IT WAS FINALLY COMPLETED. ONLY 2,705 MILES HAVE BEEN LOGGED ON THIS SHOW TRUCK SINCE IT HIT THE STREETS. ALWAYS STORED IN A CONTROLLED CLIMATE SHOP. REGULARLY EXERCISED AND SERVICED TO KEEP EVERYTHING FRESH. CONTRIBUTING BUILDERS: Paint and body work was performed by Beach Park Auto Sports in Waukegan, IL. Frame and suspension modification done by Chassis Service in Waukegan, IL. Frameup Wheel Works in Waukegan, IL. built the car, handled the machine work, and electrical wiring. Kasper Auto Trim in Waterford, WI designed and installed the custom interior. EXTERIOR: This is an all steel 1941 Willys truck body. The cab has been chopped four inches. The original Willys truck bed components were deteriorated, so they were sent out and a custom fabricated steel bed was reproduced using the original specifications. The only fiberglass components on the body are Willy's Works rear fenders. There is no bondo or heavy filler on this exterior. Finished in 1993 Ford Wild Strawberry with Pearlescent clear coat. Completely assembled with stainless steel fasteners. Stainless steel '55 Ford pickup tail light brackets. '33/34 Ford sedan delivery tail lights. Fit and finish on all panels is excellent. Tinted glass, in excellent condition. Shaved door handles. Weld Drag Star 15" wheels on all four corners. Mickey Thompson 26"x7.5" on the front. 33"x 21.5" D.O.T. Street Tires on rear. Billet wiper arms. DRIVETRAIN: Chevy 454 C.I. bored to 468 C.I. Balanced rotating assembly. Isky Mega Hydraulic cam-.590" lift and 292* duration. Crower roller rockers and HD pushrods. Merlin heads, ported and polished. Weiand polished aluminum intake and "Street Charger" 6-71 Blower. Twin Holley 650 CFM carburetors. All billet pulleys and tall valve covers. Custom fabricated 2 1/8" Jet Coated headers. Tilton high torque starter. Custom fabricated polished aluminum overflow tank. External oil cooler. Custom all brass 10 core radiator. Holley Volumax electric fuel pump, fuel regulator, dual fuel filters, and braided stainless steel lines. Custom made 20 gallon aluminum fuel tank. Power is transferred via a rebuilt GM Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission with remote transmission cooler and 3,500 RPM stall converter. Ford 9" rear end with 4.56 posi gears. Moser axles. Frame is painted in 1992 Lincoln Silver Rose. Four wheel disc brakes- rotors drilled for Chevy bolt pattern-polished stainless steel brake lines. Coil over, four link rear suspension. Progressive Automotive Mustang cross bar and upper and lower control arms on front. Polished aluminum rack and pinion steering assembly. INTERIOR: Complete color coordinated gray and raspberry custom interior by "Kasper". Sculptured door panels and headliner. Complete set of VDO gauges encased in a '40 Ford dash insert-mounted in custom '41 Willys dash. Creature comforts include woodgrain wheel, tilt column, power windows, and Vintage air and heat. Lokar billet shifter and emergency brake handle. Billet accelerator and brake pedals. Four point roll cage and fire extinguisher. MISC: Battery and fuel tank hidden in compartment in bed. There are also some great extras that are included in the sale. As you can see in the magazine pictures, the truck originally sported a custom made rear wing with running lights and third brake light. Wheelie bars. Custom made truck cover. All included. |
