Here are some pictures of "The Hummer" , Becker & O'Connel 6
cylinder powered Anglia gasser.
Purchased by Steve Dennish of Limeworks Speedshop. The car was at the
13th Hot Rod Reunion in the Swapmeet area.
I bought the car as is, it's complete but the Ford straight 6 had
been replaced by a GMC 302 H head 6 cyl motor, which the previous
owners had run at Bonneville.in a 37 Chevy.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I am going to restore it to it's former glory and register it for
the street as well as Nostalgia racing.
Thanks
Steve Dennish. |

I bought the Hummer after seeing it at the 13th Hot Rod Reunion.
So Far I've got it safe to drive, registered it for the street and
had the lettering re done.
She runs a 302 jimmy 6 a 4 speed Muncie and 5:12 posi gears in the
Pontiac rear
Any info on the car would be a great help.
I know she's in the Gasser Wars book. On the Austins & Anglias
poster and in Feb 66 Hot Rod Magazine.
Thanks we're having a gas,
Love your site

Steve took the Anglia to the 1st Annual
Standard 1320 Invitational at Inyokern on the 19th of April, 2005.
As the only real Gasser at Inyokern, the car looked good and drew a lot of attention...unfortunately, it also
ate the crank! |
